How To Cross-Stitch:
Cross-stitch:
If you have never cross-stitched before, much less sewn a button on
a shirt, never fear! Counted cross-stitch is easier than it looks.
Just follow the step-by-step instructions in the Cross-Stitch Tutorial, Part 1, and you will soon be stitching with the best! Along with
the instructions are several pictures showing how stitches should
look to help you visualize your sewing. And always remember, have
fun! If you have any questions about cross-stitching, please email

Quilting Tips:
Quilting
Tips:
1.All seams in quilting are ¼ inch.
2.Press open seams towards the darker fabric in your quilt.
3.A quilting ruler and square, and a rotary knife with self sealing mat
are the best quilting tools you can buy.
4.When doing fusible appliqué, follow the directions for the fusible
webbing. If the directions say iron with a damp cloth, do!
5.When cutting fusible designs with middles cut out, (like with the letters
a,e,g,d,etc.), use a sharp x-acto knife for cutting.
6.When making a quilt with many rows of squares, if you are not going
to machine or hand quilt the top, stitch in the ditch to keep batting
from moving and quilt from sagging.
See: An Understanding of the Quilting Process for a more in-depth overview of quilting.
